The short answer: yes, it is possible. We have coached students from A1 to B2 in 14–18 months. But it requires honest commitment and a structured approach.

The Study Hours Required

Research consistently shows that reaching B2 from zero requires approximately 600–750 hours of effective study. At 1 hour per day, that is 20–25 months. At 2 hours per day with coaching, 10–13 months. Most students achieve B2 in 14–18 months with 1.5 hours of daily study including classes.

The Milestones

Months 1–3: A1 — basic communication, 500 words, present tense. Months 4–6: A2 — past and future tense, 1,200 words. Months 7–10: B1 — fluent conversation on familiar topics, subjunctive basics. Months 11–18: B2 — academic writing, complex grammar, near-native listening comprehension.
